![]() ![]() I suppose it would be no exaggeration to say that the world is composed entirely of unhappy people. There are all kinds of unhappy people in this world. Oba developed hate to women and degrades them but he still could not reject them. He suffered in the hands of women who takes advantage of him since small and even as he grows up, he is still being taken advantage on. What is it to be human? Do we confer to the traditional customs and society, the working of society as whole instead of individuality, reign free from the shackles that bind our lives. He always felt he is disqualified from being human and cannot relate to what makes up a normal human. ![]() The protagonist, Yozo Oba was born in an aristocratic family with knowledge and teaching of Western culture, however from young he seems unable to reconcile with his own identity. This was written as journal entries by the main character, Oba and we see directly his disturbing thoughts and they are vividly painful to read because we are reading from his personal nightmares. ![]() For such a short book, the emotional ride i had with this story will stay for a long time with me I tabbed so many quotes and the sentences that resonated with me. ![]()
